Welcome GHSA new Executive Director, Dr. Robin Hines!
AAASP would like to officially welcome GHSA Executive Director Dr. Robin Hines to his new role. As a former teacher, coach, athletics director, head football coach, principal, and superintendent, Dr. Hines believes in the mission of the GHSA and what it has to offer our young people, particularly the enhanced educational experiences for our kids across the state through the playoffs and the championships.
“Speaking as the Executive Director of the GHSA and as a former superintendent who was fortunate enough to provide adapted sports for our students, I would like to encourage all schools systems to participate in adapted sports if possible. As a superintendent I can say that the sports offered for our kids truly made a positive difference for not only the participants, but for our entire community. As the Executive Director of the GHSA I look forward to supporting adapted sports for many years to come. It’s one of the best things we do”. Dr. Robin Hines, Executive Director, Georgia High School Association
Hines, a Valdosta State graduate holds a doctorate from Nova Southeastern, and comes to the post from as Houston County Superintendent, where he worked with Adapted Sports over the past 7 years. We wish Gary Phillips all the best and appreciate the support he and Dr. Ralph Swearngin have given AAASP throughout the years.
