FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE —  Atlanta, July 23, 2026– Tasha Schuh, will headline the eighth annual AAASP ASPIRE Awards on Sunday, September 27, 2026.  The Adapted Sports Programs in Recreation and Education (ASPIRE) Awards recognize student athletes, coaches, advocates, volunteers and others working to make adapted sports available across the nation, and those who serve as role models for their action and initiative in supporting competitive sports programs for student athletes with qualifying physical disabilities. The AAASP will honor several individuals and organizations who exemplify these efforts and have shown a passion for excellence, accessibility, and advocacy for adapted sports programs.

Tasha Schuh is an inspirational speaker who equips youth and educators to be resilient for their mental and emotional health.  Tasha’s four presentation components– PATH (Purpose, Attitude, Team, and Hope)–helped her to be resilient after a life-changing theater accident at age 16, which left her paralyzed from the chest down.  She now lives a vibrant, fulfilling life, sharing her message of PATH across the nation.  Her message will empower student athletes, coaches and supporters to build resilience to overcome life’s challenges.  We are excited to hear Tasha’s personal story during her keynote speech in September.  To learn more about Tasha, please visit:  2026 ASPIRE Awards – American Association of Adapted Sports Programs®

“We are honored to welcome Tasha Schuh as the keynote speaker for this year’s event,” said Dr. Jenny Millward, AAASP Executive Director.  “Tasha’s story is a powerful testament of resilience, perseverance and strength.  I was introduced to Tasha’s PATH program during a conference last year, and her message left a lasting impression.  I knew then that our ASPIRE Awards attendees would benefit from hearing her inspiring story.”The ASPIRE Awards shine a light on those who have advocated and supported the programs and resources that make adapted sports possible for so many athletes. It is through this advocacy and support that athletes have the opportunity to get into the game and realize the benefits that sports offer to people’s physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
