Coach Christy Jones has been a staple with the Houston County Sharks for years; although she is retiring from coaching this year, she will still be in the Houston County School System next year, and rooting on the Sharks.
Best wishes to you, Coach Jones…we will miss you on the sidelines!
“Congratulations to Christy Jones on her retirement! While I am excited for her as she enters this new chapter in her life, she will be sorely missed in Houston County. She has been with the Sharks from the beginning and has enjoyed phenomenal success with the Adapted Sports program. Her love and commitment for her student athletes is second to none and her efforts in providing competitive athletics for her students is beyond measure! While she will be missed in Houston County, I look forward to the achievements that will surely come in the next stage of her career.”
Robin Hines, Executive Director, Georgia High School Association
“Christy Jones has been such an asset to our school district! Her dedication to the adapted sports program has positively impacted the lives of so many students and their families. She has championed student athletes who, without access to adapted sports, may have never had the opportunity to hear a crowd cheer for them or wear a varsity letter jacket. Christy is a trailblazer who has fearlessly smashed barriers and created a culture of teamwork, competition, pride in victory, and grace in defeat. Christy’s legacy will live on for many years through the countless lives she has touched as a coach, teacher, and mentor.”
