NFHS Leadership Honored at AAASP/GHSA Wheelchair Basketball Championship Game

Dr. Karissa Niehoff, Executive Director of the National Federation of State High School Associations and Sandy Searcy, Director of Sports for the National Federation of State High School Associations honored during half-time of the 2019 AAASP/GHSA State Wheelchair Basketball Varsity Championship Game in Macon.

A very special moment was captured in Macon last week, when NFHS and GHSA Leadership gathered at the AAASP/GHSA Championship Game.  Pictured in the photo above (L to R) Ernie Yarbrough, Assistant Director of the Georgia High School Association, Dr. Karissa Niehoff, Executive Director of the National Federation of State High School Associations (and the first woman to hold the position), Dr. Robin Hines, Executive Director of the Georgia High School Association and Sandy Searcy, Director of Sports for the National Federation of State High School Associations. GHSA leadership presented  commemorative team autographed game balls to the NFHS leadership during half-time of the 2019 AAASP/GHSA State Wheelchair Basketball Varsity Championship Game, part of the GHSA High School State Basketball Finals at Macon Coliseum, Macon GA (03/08/19).  GHSA and the American Association of Adapted Sports Programs (AAASP) formed an interscholastic alliance in 2001 and partner together to insure GA students with a qualifying physical disability have access to sports in their schools or school district.
