Houston County Sharks Stage an Amazing Comeback in Overtime to Take the 2020 AAASP Wheelchair Basketball Varsity State Final

First Overtime Game in Adapted Sports 23 Year History!

What. A. Game!  The 2020 AAASP/GHSA Wheelchair Basketball Varsity State Final was a nail-biter from the start of the 6th quarter on, to set the stage for the first overtime game in Adapted Sports’ 23 year history, Friday afternoon at the Macon Centreplex.  The Houston County Sharks and Henry Hurricanes had competed head to head several times this year – and knew the game would be a close one.  Henry Hurricanes took the lead early, and got to a 17-6 lead up until halftime, but the Houston County Sharks made an unanswered 5 point run in the 4th to set the stage for the nailbiter that was about to take place.

The Houston County Sharks made a “come from behind” run to tie the game to send the game into overtime to beat the Henry Hurricanes 23-22  at the 2020 AAASP Wheelchair Basketball Varsity State Final.  AAASP was proud to be the 3rd game of the day, as part of the GHSA state championship slate Friday.

Congratulations to the Houston County Sharks and the Henry Hurricanes for making history and making it a very exciting match-up.

The Houston County Sharks won their 8th Straight Varsity State Title this year.
