In AAASP Wheelchair Football, there are six players on a team. Eligible participants, whose primary disability must be physical, are boys and girls attending grades one through 12. They may walk unassisted, with devices, or be in manual or power wheelchairs. All participants must compete in wheelchairs. Competitors must not raise both hips simultaneously off the seat of the chair to gain advantage during competition (catching a pass, tackling, etc.). Raising one hip as a result of reaching out (to catch a pass, make a tackle, etc.) is acceptable.
