What a great day in Macon for the 2024 AAASP/GHSA Wheelchair Basketball Championship!

The game, which took place in the middle of the day at the Centreplex, pitted the Clayton County Eagles against the Houston County Sharks for the title.

Anthony Cuti scored 16 points to pace the Sharks, who broke open a close game with a 13-0 run to open the second half. Cuti scored six points during that spurt.

Houston County also got eight points from Caden Nelson and seven points from JaQuavious West.

Andrew Dotson scored 10 points to lead Clayton County.

The Eagles put up a fight, but it was the Sharks for the win.

The Houston County Sharks won their third consecutive championship and 11th in 12 seasons with a 35-16 victory over the Clayton County Eagles.

Thank you to all of the athletes, coaches, and volunteers for the efforts yesterday, and especially the fans, partners and friends who showed up to root the teams on!

A special shout out to former GHSA Executive Director, Dr. Ralph Swearngin, and current GHSA Executive Director, Dr. Robin Hines, for their continued support of the athletes!

Also, a sincere thank you to State School Superintendent, Richard Woods, for coming out to present the trophies to our athletes!
